Starting in Luke 12:39, "And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. 40. Be ye therefore ready also, for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not."

The word ready means supplied with what is necessary for the trip or the event. The Bible tells us be ye therefore ready, get supplied for the event. There is something going to take place one of these days and you better be ready for it. Get supplied! Wonder whats necessary?

Matt. 25:1 "Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

2. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

3. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

4. But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

5. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

6. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

7. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

8. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. {gone out: or, going out}

9. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh".

Those that were ready went in, and the door was shut. After the bridegroom had come there was no time for getting ready.

There was no time to get supplied for the event. The event had already taken place.

The foolish were not ready having no oil in their lamps. They went to the wise saying give us of your oil. But it was not possible.

You see I can carry in my vessel only enough oil for me. I cannot carry enough oil for you and me, I cannot get you ready. The only person I can get ready is me.

Rom. 8:8 says "So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. Rom. 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."

Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. If we cannot please God then we are not ready to go. We are not supplied with that which is necessary for the event if we don't have the Spirit of God dwelling in us.

No wonder Jesus said in Joh 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you, but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

What is the comforter? The Spirit of God, the Holy Ghost. What will he do for you? He will make you ready. He will reprove you of your sins (Joh 16:8), then he will dwell in you. He will guide you into all truth. When will he dwell in you? After he has reproved you of sin. After your temple has been cleaned up. He won't dwell in a unclean temple. 1 Co 3:16 says "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17. If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."

Are you ready? Does the Spirit of God dwell in you? Do you believe on Jesus, as the scripture has said?

Joh 7:38 says "He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 7:39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive, for the Holy Ghost was not yet given, because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)"

Be ye therefore ready, for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
